Anatomy of a Headshot Session After I book a shoot with someone, the most popular question I get is "what should I wear?" Wardrobe is indeed important, but there are other points to consider about your upcoming session as well. Let' s break it down into smaller parts. After reading this, you'll know what to expect and you'll feel much more prepared and confident come the day of your shoot. So indeed an important question, what should you wear? Wear whatever you're most comfortable in. Wear what you would normally wear from day to day for causal stuff, and also your go-to pieces when spiffing it up. If you're an actor, wear something that's appropriate for the roles you're going for. If you're a professional, wear clothes that your clients can expect to see you in. Clothing should fit well and be comfortable with minimal detail by avoiding busy patterns. Layers always look good. Bring several options to your shoot and we'll go through everything together to pick the outfits that best suit the looks you're going for. Makeup is very important and I highly recommend you book a makeup artist for your session. If you have someone you already prefer to work with, that's great too, otherwise I have a handful of people I can get for you as well. Once we begin shooting, I like to keep you in the loop of how things are going. I'll periodically show you some photos from the back of the camera to make sure you like the direction we're moving in. That's when people notice how great they look and get even more excited to continue shooting. When we're done with a look, I'll load the photos on a computer and briefly go through them with you to make sure you like what's there, and then we'll move on. Once we're done with everything and if you have the time, we can go over everything together and make your picks. You'll still have a web gallery to show to your family, friends, representation and so on. Also, please remember that all my packages include digital retouching! If you have any further questions, click on the "contact" page and send me a message...hope to hear from you soon. |
